Abstract

The aim of the research was to identify the role of early childhood teachers in activating children's library activities in Al-Dawadmi city, Saudi Arabia, through convenience sampling, with a total of 148 teachers. The data collection tool was a questionnaire, and the research adopted a descriptive analytical approach. The researchers reached several conclusions, including the scarcity of libraries in early childhood schools, while children's libraries are available unlike school libraries in the research community. Additionally, teachers organize events and programs to activate children's library activities. There were statistically significant differences in the sample's estimations of the teachers' role in activating children's library activities attributed to age and educational level variables, while there were no differences attributed to years of experience.
The researchers provided a set of recommendations, including providing continuous training and development opportunities for early childhood teachers in activating children's library activities, developing a clear plan to activate library activities, enhancing cooperation between teachers and other school stakeholders such as library specialists and school administration, and maintaining continuous communication with parents and involving them in activating library activities.
